3 No-Fail 2021 Design Trends to Style Your House to Sell
In the world of home staging, applying the latest interior design trends can be a tricky.
When it comes to styling a house to sell, the latest interior design trends may serve as inspiration. However, it’s never intended as a step-by-step guide to styling rooms that provide value in the eyes of buyers. Interior decorating and design serve as tools to create a functional, beautiful personal space with more emphasis on the personal.
If you’re feeling distraught seeking direction to style your house to sell, you can pull elements from a few past and present interior design trends without losing your ideal homebuyer.
You only need to know how to coordinate color, furnishings, accents and finishes well to keep the buyer’s eye moving and leading them through a house feel where they believe they will be comfortable.
So, what 2021 Design Trends Work for Staging?
In a moment, I’ll share a few of today’s design trends for 2021. Be forewarned. This year did not hold back on amazing and bold design options. Most trends may appear to the taste of the fearless dweller looking to shake things up in their interiors. You may even find you’d adopt them in your house. For staging purposes, the options were limited.
Never fear. I’ve found a few trends to consider for styling your own house to sell.
Yes, Granny Chic is a thing.
If you’re old enough to remember the 80’s with the big, bold florals on wallpapers and bedspreads, it’s back. If you’re in to this look, wait to add it for your next place. The floral print is too strong and too bold. As lovely as it might be, it can cause too many distractions. If you absolutely love this idea to use in staging your house, try transferring the floral print into a 3D effect. Place vases of a beautiful flower arrangement in the kitchen and bathrooms with real flowers for the listing photo day.
Wicker for inside and out?
Wicker and rattan do more than act as outdoor furniture. You may use rattan baskets for storage. However, it’s also perfect for indoor furnishings, window shades, floor coverings and wall art. When applying at the Wicca and return I would consider using that in the way of baskets for storage which is very neutral also what do use it for and the floor coverings and instead of going strong with the texile in large furniture pieces, a flat wicker plate or basket makes the ideal neutral wall art over a bed or sofa depending on the design style you’re working towards.
Gray & Yellow as a couple
Today’s homeowners have adopted the color gray into their home. In 2021, homebuyers still love gray, too. As it appears the color gray will be sticking around a little while longer, it has a new mate to add a bit of brightness. This year, pairing gray with the appropriate yellow color may help springboard the gray tones into warmer trends. If you’ve already incorporated the color gray in your house, you can add throw pillows, accents and artwork with yellow tones throughout the house to carry the eye around each space, leading homebuyers from room to room.
If you’re not feeling love for any of these design trends, there’s no rule that you cannot borrow a few from popular design trends from past years. Simply check to make sure the former trends include a neutral and inviting appeal to engage a broad audience of your ideal home buyer.
